Finally, you can choose among 20 ring tone options and identify who's calling before picking up the phone.

About DECT Technology
Advanced DECT 6.0 technology, or Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, operates on the newly released 1.9 GHz frequency band that was recently allocated to support cordless telephony. Uniden DECT 6.0 incorporates unique "listen before transmit" technology that avoids interference with many household products, such as baby monitors, microwaves and WiFi (which operate on frequencies like 2.4 GHz). As a result, DECT phones offer consumers enhanced voice clarity and crystal clear digital sound quality. DECT 6.0 technology also offers higher security and voice protection, as well as a longer battery and battery standby life than existing 2.4 GHZ or 5.8 GHz phones.

The DWX2077 is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

Customer Review: Very solid, clear sound and... waterproof?
This is a very solid phone... It is heavier than my last cordless, but I see that as a plus. Easy and very comfortable to hold, easy to use, very precise buttons... and you CAN use it tucked between your ear and shoulder (or I can, anyway). Bought two and I am very happy... will probably buy accessory handsets in future. We have no need for the waterproof aspects, but the quality really shows, even when out of the pool. It is not as strikingly orange-looking as it seems in the photos online, but at the same time it is not a "blend in" desk accessory (a plus for our office).
Customer Review: An Industrial Strength Phone
Many cordless phones on the market today feel like slippery little bars of soap. Not this one. It feels solid and indestructible. It's even covered in black rubber to make it easier to hold. The sound quality is crystal clear, and the maximum volume setting is extraordinarily loud. It doesn't have a lot of gimmicky features: there are only a few simple ringtones, for example. But it is a pleasure to use, and it will probably last until landlines go the way of the telegraph.

Linksys AT&T CallVantage Wireless - G VoIP Router with 2 Phone Ports WRT54GP 2A-AT

The Linksys Wireless-G broadband router combines the flexibility of a home network with the simplicity of good design. You can directly connect up to four PCs (or daisy-chain as many hubs as you like) and allow them all to share a DSL connection or cable modem. The built-in Ethernet ports support up to four devices, while the wireless access point handles both Wireless-G and Wireless-B accessories; secure encryption protects your privacy. These functions are all set up through a browser-based Web utility that will have you up and running quickly.
Easy Hardware Connections
Four Ethernet ports and two telephone jacks are readily accessible.
The unit also features two standard phone jacks that connect any ordinary telephone or fax to AT&T CallVantage sm Service (requires broadband via DSL or cable modem). Each jack operates independently and can support two different phone numbers (where available; requires service activation).

AT&T CallVantage Service is a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephone service that utilizes the latest in Internet technology to deliver features that are beyond the means of traditional phone companies. With VoIP, calls are transmitted over the Internet, allowing you to communicate nationwide for a single monthly fee. You pay additional charges only for international calls, which are billed at competitive prices. (AT&T CallVantage service treats calls to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada as domestic calls.)

In addition to standard features you expect from your traditional phone company, such as caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling, and call forwarding, AT&T CallVantage Service provides a number of extras made possible only through use of Internet protocol technology. You can have voice mail forwarded to your e-mail inbox as an attachment and then forward that attachment to relevant third parties. You can take your home area code with you when you travel, so your family or work can reach you without paying long-distance rates. And, with an elaborate variation of call forwarding known as "Locate Me," you can maintain a list of places you'll be visiting: When you're out and about, the service will ring each place in sequence (or all at once) until it finds you.

Sign up for AT&T CallVantage Service and you're automatically given a secure, private, Personal Call Manager Web site. With it, you have complete control of all your features. At a glance, you can check your voice mail or instantly change any of your settings. This truly sets AT&T CallVantage Service apart from any other home phone service.

Accessible either by phone or the Internet, the Phone Feature Manager supplies a phone directory that stores up to 250 numbers and logs every incoming and outgoing call for 60 days. A reverse lookup directory lets you access the name and address information of an incoming caller, while the Add to Phone Book feature lets you move any number from your call log to your phone book with the touch of a single button. Display and Dial lets you easily call any number selected from either your call log or phone book, and you can create up to nine speed dial entries for your most frequently dialed numbers. With all the possibilities that AT&T CallVantage Service offers, you can organize your communications like never before.

Wireless networks are rapidly becoming more popular and coming down in price. Since they don't require cables, you can use the devices anywhere in an office or home, even out on the patio. There's no need to roll out an Ethernet network cable to each room of a house; you can network anywhere--without wires. Outside the home, wireless networking is available in hotspots at coffee shops, businesses, and airports--great when you're on the road and need to get some work done. For convenience, wireless networking is the answer.

What Wireless Standard Is Right for Me?
Now that you've decided to create a wireless network, the next step is to figure out which wireless standard to use.

Basically, a standard is a set of specifications for a device. All devices that follow a specific standard share operating characteristics, such as the radio frequency used and maximum data transfer speed.

For wireless networking, there are three standards to choose from at this time:

  • 802.11b
  • 802.11a
  • 802.11g

Customer Review: I hate att dsl internet
Every time I come to my computer, I have no connection. I called att and they said it was my computer, but when I talked to other people in my area, they said they had the same problem. I would not recommend att internet. It's awful. I would not recommend comcast, either. Comcast workers are mean and nasty. If anyone knows of a good reliable internet, please let me know.
Customer Review: Linksys Wireless-G VOIP for AT&T CallVantage
Received the product on time. Fairly easy plug and play, however when I connected with AT&T CallVantage for the initial setup of the account the AT&T system thought I had the standard telephone adaptor and tried to download the wrong data. I called the AT&T help line and the service tech was great and easily corrected the problem. I have been very happy with both the router and the AT&T CallVantage service.
