SMC WSKP100 802.11G Wireless Skype Phone
Customer Review: Functional, but with a very short range
Right out of the box, the phone would not connect to my Linksys access point with WPA encryption. I had to upgrade the firmware on the phone to the latest version before it would properly connect. Could only place clear calls if I was in the same room as the access point. I have a D-Link DPH-50U USB-to-telephone adapter which works 100x better, for much less money. If you need on-the-road skype service, I think that the Nokia internet tablet is a better choice. I returned my SMC Skype phone.
Customer Review: Nice electronic-brick. Calling it a 'phone' is laughable.
I bought this with great hopes for telephony freedom - the ability to travel anywhere in the world while keeping my number, and straight ditching my conventional phoneline when I got broadband... However this was not to be. It's reception is mediocre at best, if you're leaning on the walls housing the hotspot, you'll get reception - there will be no reception while driving, and although you may be able to check your messages with low reception, talking is hopeless. Conversation is laggy, and quite akin to 1950's radio communication - "Hi, how are you, over." Yes, you can have it on all day, perhaps even talk a good chunk of it, but two? Absolutely not. Again, frustrating and kinda defeating it's appeal to a road warrior. I bought a cradle for it, and that's nice for battery if I'm home, but doesn't help it's crappy firmware or power management. There is no 'lock keys' on it at this time. I blew about a third of my minutes from it dialing my friends with it's ghetto little stick control from my pocket. If you power it down after every call, you don't dial out, but it's largely a glorified pager at that point. It's heavy, clunky, and it's screen scratches easily. I called SMC and vented some frustration - I explained that I had better reception results using the Belkin firmware (this was an option a while ago, I haven't used this phone in easily a year...) and detailed my frustrations listed above. The tech sent me a free phone, saying that he was sure I had a defective unit, and to accept a free one instead of going on a reviews rampage (my threat at the time). Fine. Fast forward six months, and that tech is nowhere to be seen, any my little gift (which I didn't use because it sucked too) has become an advance RMA (where I send in the old one). So SMC mailed me until I put 'em on the spamblocker. Avoid this terrible parody of communication, this nightmare of customer service, and buy something, ANYTHING else. The sound quality is excellent however, if you have good service, and patience for 2000ms voice latency.

GE Cordless 5.8 GHz Digital 28031EE3 Phone with 3 Handsets, Caller ID and Digital Answering System
Customer Review: Love that button
I recently purchased this set of phones for a second time, I've had them for about a year an a half when suddenly the LCD caller ID display ceased to work on two out of three phones, other reviews said that replacement batteries were not available but I don't even know if that would have helped the issue. Regardless, there is a "do not disturb" button on the answering machine that deactivates all three ringers with one push of a button, as someone who works nites and doesnt like to be woken up at 8am by solicitors it is a Godsend, enough so that I purchased the whole system again! Hoping to squeak two years out of these...

Wireless Extenders Yx 500-Cel Cellular Phone Signal Booster
Customer Review: Poor description!
Recently purchased this product and did not know that it has an external antenna that needs to be installed somewhere outside of the apartment/house. Since my apartment is small i didn't know that the device needed an additional 15 feet distance from antenna to device. I was disappointed to find that i was not informed of this when i purchased the item.
Customer Review: works better than expected
My house is on the wrong side of a small hill in a wooded area and has no reliable cell phone coverage, and had unreliable coverage in a couple little lucky spots. I have a yagi antenna on the roof aimed toward the cell sites, lightning arrestor, and a 50' cable coming in from the attic going to the basement, and up to the first floor office. Here the Wireless Extender attaches. I went from nothing to 20-80 percent of the signal bars depending on where I am in the house. The cell phones now have good signal and function properly.

Siemens S45 DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone Extension Handset
Customer Review: Very happy with the performance.
I am very happy with the Siemens phone and highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like is that the screen is on all the time but otherwise is very good and attractive.
Customer Review: excellent audio quality, some small issues
The phone has excellent audio quality, specially the speakerphone, but be aware of the 'mute button' elevator music, make sure to turn this off it the opposite what you expect from 'mute'. If there is a drawback its the 'Call Waiting' part. Its seems the only time call waiting works as one expects is when you are on an 'internal' call and receive an 'external' one. The display is bright and easy to read the instructions pretty clear.

GE - True Digital Technology - Cordless Phone
Customer Review: A Very Nice Phone, But No Lighted Keypad
I am very satisfied with this product, although I was disappointed to discover three things about it: 1. It doesn't have a lighted dial. The image in the ad created the impression, for me, that the dial was lighted. I should have thought to look more closely. Not lighted dial can be more inconvenient than one would imagine; although, of course, there is always putting on a light or bringing the cordless handset to a more lighted area. (Once someone is accustomed to the phone's keypad a lighted dial may not be all that crucial.) 2. The phone is described as "black" in the ad. While the front of the phone is black, the back (and part of the sides) of it is charcoal gray. 3. Also, because I couldn't see a picture of it from all sides, I assumed it was a straight, flat, candy-bar phone. The top section of the back of the phone is tapered in toward the top. The design is an ergonomic-appearing one. A side view shows that it is narrower at the top and then slopes outward, so the bottom portion is thicker. (It resembles a shoe horn.) The phone works well and has all the basic features that most phones these days have. It was nothing to set it up. It came all registered. I happen to have also purchased a second handset, which also works well and was equally effortless to set up. The black front of the phone is a high-gloss black, so it looks attractive, sitting on my desk. I chose this phone for it's very reasonable price and it's simple, elegant, appearance. I don't care for the common "high-tech" look of many of today's phones. This handset's attractiveness, to me, makes up for the non-lighted dial. I've anticipated a possible need for a third handset, and I've asked myself whether I'd buy a whole new phone system or just add a third handset to this phone. I'd be more than comfortable adding a third handset.
Customer Review: Missing headset jack
I bought this phone sight unseen because I love my old GE phone and this phone seemed to have the features I wanted. It turns out that this phone is missing a headset jack so it cannot be used with a headset. This seems like a major flaw to me and is a basic requirement that almost all phones have so I cannot give it a high rating, particularly since my older model GE phone did have a jack.

Remanufactured Uniden DCT 648-2 2.4 GHz Expandable Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets, Answering System, and Caller ID
Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the DCT 648-2 can store up to 100 calls, while the display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the list of calls and dial with the touch of a button. An auto-scan feature automatically detects the best channel available, while handset and ringer volume controls allow you to easily adjust the phone's settings to your liking.
The DCT 648-2 is headset compatible (a belt clip is provided for hands-free operation), while a room/baby monitoring setting lets you hear audio from another handset location. A page button on the base makes finding a lost handset quick and painless, and the menu-driven handset LCD makes operation easy. A redial button lets you easily call one of the last three outgoing numbers, while both tone and pulse dialing modes are provided in case you need to switch to one or the other.
With the auto-talk feature turned on, you can answer calls simply by removing the phone from its cradle, and the flash/talk button lets you switch to an incoming call (requires subscription to a fee-based service) and put the current conversation on hold. A handset-to-handset call transfer function is provided, as is a memory location transfer feature. With four-way conferencing (two handsets plus base plus outside call), multiple users can easily converse, and the intercom feature lets you communicate with another handset location.
The digital answering system features full remote operation, allowing you to check messages while away from the home or office. Voice prompts help guide you through setup, while play/stop, skip, delete, and repeat keys help you navigate through your messages. A memo record feature is provided, and the conversation record feature lets you record important conversations or information such as driving directions.
Twenty distinctive ringer options are provided, and a visual voice mail indicator on the base lets you know when you have message waiting. Wall mountable, the DCT 648-2 also comes with both a handset and base speakerphone. This refurbished model is backed by a 90-day warranty.

AT&T E5908 5.8 GHz Corded and Cordless Phone System with Answering System, Dial-In-Base, and Speakerphone
Customer Review: This is the one!
Big Range, Comfortable Handset, Compact design, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Good Sound, Nice Features, Strong Signal All I was looking for was a land line with a message machine but when I saw this one and read the good reviews, I ordered it. So far I think it's the best phone I've ever had. It's already cut down on cell phone use.
Customer Review: Totally Satisfied
When I was initially looking at this phone, about a year ago, I read the reviews listed here and, needless to say, had some concern. However, I went ahead with the purchase anyway and am glad I did. Since my purchase was about a year after the others here who experienced problems, I am presuming that AT&T had time to clear the problems. Both the base unit and the cordless have worked very well and I have had no problems. All aspects of my use have provided excellent service, clarity of conversation, range of the cordless unit, and especially ability to have someone on both the base and cordless at the same time. So far, so good.

Customer Review: VISTA COMPATIBLE-LOVE IT!
This is the first time I have purchased a "BROTHER" product. I needed a printer/scanner for my VISTA system. VISTA realy limited me from my choices due to not many on the market yet so I was extremely hesitant about purchasing this item. I usualy buy Sony or Panasonic. It arrived sooner than I had expected. Instructions were easy to follow. It is wireless and I set it up for this but it did not respond. I called customer service and the gentleman was EXTREMELY kind and patient. He walked me through step-by-step and would not exit our conversation until he heard the machine working properly. My family and I have put it to use DAILY! I LOVE my scanned photos. It prints GREAT. COLOR is GREAT. FAXES great. I love the "black" print button-no need to set it on properties! The phone works GREAT. The price was GREAT! I am so happy I chose BROTHER for my VISTA system. I am completely satisfied.
Customer Review: Covers all the bases, truly all-in-one.
I've been using this printer for about 6 months now and love it. I share office space and use the MFC-885CW as my personal machine, only sending bigger jobs to my secretary. It's been under a heavy load from day one. Here's what I like: 1. Print quality is excellent for text and photos. Whether I'm printing a motion or photo exhibits, my results look great. 2. The option to pick up the cordless phone and roam around the office means I can grab files without putting people on hold. It has good range, too, covering our whole building. 3. It is very easy to use. I'm not a big reader of manuals. I just started using it and i've never had a problem figuring it out. It also has tons of features. 4. Wireless. I hate cables. This machine sits discreetly off to one side (and looks ok, even in my country-lawyer style office) without any ugly cables running to my laptop. I walk in the door, sit down, open my laptop, and can print and fax immediately. Also, my secretary likes the fact that she can print docs to me without having to leave the front desk and phones. What I don't like: 1. The fax is slow. It's about half the speed of most faxes. Large documents still go to our shared fax, but for anything under ten pages, it isn't an inconvenience. 2. The paper tray could be bigger. I run out about once a week (I also print a lot). Always in the middle of something I need right away, but it is easy to reload. 3. The document feeder only handles 10 pages at a time. No big deal to me, as we have a commercial copier, but it would be really irritating if this was my only copier. So, this is a great printer if you need a lot of features for a little money and don't handle many large documents. For most people it would be fine, and even with an active law practice, I'm only rarely inconvenienced. Compared to the hassle of using multiple machines, this is a lot better. It's perfect for home offices or lower volume offices, like a start up. One thing - I've seen this machine on sale, twice, for around a hundred dollars less, so you might shop around. Still worth the full price, though, especially if you want a machine that can be a fax and phone on only one line, provide versatility in printing, and copy easily.

Linksys AT&T CallVantage Wireless - G VoIP Router with 2 Phone Ports WRT54GP 2A-AT
Easy Hardware Connections |
Four Ethernet ports and two telephone jacks are readily accessible. |
AT&T CallVantage Service is a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephone service that utilizes the latest in Internet technology to deliver features that are beyond the means of traditional phone companies. With VoIP, calls are transmitted over the Internet, allowing you to communicate nationwide for a single monthly fee. You pay additional charges only for international calls, which are billed at competitive prices. (AT&T CallVantage service treats calls to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada as domestic calls.)
In addition to standard features you expect from your traditional phone company, such as caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling, and call forwarding, AT&T CallVantage Service provides a number of extras made possible only through use of Internet protocol technology. You can have voice mail forwarded to your e-mail inbox as an attachment and then forward that attachment to relevant third parties. You can take your home area code with you when you travel, so your family or work can reach you without paying long-distance rates. And, with an elaborate variation of call forwarding known as "Locate Me," you can maintain a list of places you'll be visiting: When you're out and about, the service will ring each place in sequence (or all at once) until it finds you.
Sign up for AT&T CallVantage Service and you're automatically given a secure, private, Personal Call Manager Web site. With it, you have complete control of all your features. At a glance, you can check your voice mail or instantly change any of your settings. This truly sets AT&T CallVantage Service apart from any other home phone service.
Accessible either by phone or the Internet, the Phone Feature Manager supplies a phone directory that stores up to 250 numbers and logs every incoming and outgoing call for 60 days. A reverse lookup directory lets you access the name and address information of an incoming caller, while the Add to Phone Book feature lets you move any number from your call log to your phone book with the touch of a single button. Display and Dial lets you easily call any number selected from either your call log or phone book, and you can create up to nine speed dial entries for your most frequently dialed numbers. With all the possibilities that AT&T CallVantage Service offers, you can organize your communications like never before.
What's in the Box
One AT&T-certified Linksys wireless router, Ethernet connector cable, installation guide, and service subscription instructions

Customer Review: I hate att dsl internet
Every time I come to my computer, I have no connection. I called att and they said it was my computer, but when I talked to other people in my area, they said they had the same problem. I would not recommend att internet. It's awful. I would not recommend comcast, either. Comcast workers are mean and nasty. If anyone knows of a good reliable internet, please let me know.
Customer Review: Linksys Wireless-G VOIP for AT&T CallVantage
Received the product on time. Fairly easy plug and play, however when I connected with AT&T CallVantage for the initial setup of the account the AT&T system thought I had the standard telephone adaptor and tried to download the wrong data. I called the AT&T help line and the service tech was great and easily corrected the problem. I have been very happy with both the router and the AT&T CallVantage service.

EnGenius SN920ULTRAHS Accessory Handset for SN920ULTRABU Expandable Cordless Phone
This professional package is designed for businesses that require mobility and ready telephone access. Each handset works as a long-range cordless phone and a two-way radio with other EnGenius SN-900 or SN-920 base and handsets. Build a system of up to four phone lines (requiring four base units, one base per line) and 36 handsets. The phone unit comes with battery charger, NiMH batteries, and one short and one long antenna.
Customer Review: Poor range and unreliable; expensive batteries
I have owned five of these phones (each purchased with an extra battery) for a year and can not recommend them, for these reasons: 1. Line of sight range was only ~1.5km, not the 8 km claimed. This is under ideal conditions over a stretch of remote beach. 2. They are quite heavy and run *very* hot--are uncomfortable to use. 3. Seven of the ten batteries have already failed, suggesting that the charger design is no good. New batt's are $50 each! In the same period under the same conditions my Panasonic Multitalk-8 system has been flawless, and those phones cost half as much, in fact just a bit more for the whole phone than the Engenius *batteries*.
Customer Review: Nothing Comparable
I have had an Engenius phone and base unit for over 3 years. It has always worked and continues to work despite my best efforts to destroy it. It still uses the same battery it came with and works over 1 mile from my house inside my vehicle. I bought the phone because I wanted to have access to my home number at the neighborhood park, swimming pool etc. and in areas where our cell phones do not work well. Oh, I did leave it outside all night during a thunderstorm several years back. I found it when I backed out and ran over it with my truck. I took out the battery and dried it out for a few days and it still works. Nobody can guarantee that kind of performance but for once I got something that works as advertised.
